Breakfast Group Volunteer

The post holder would support the Occupational Therapy team with providing and cooking a weekly breakfast group for service users supporting the occupational therapy staff in the acute Care service.

Occupational Therapy interventions are designed to assess a person’s functional ability and facilitate recovery and quality of life.
Occupation based activities are selected to maximise functional abilities and address any areas that may require improvement or support in order that a person can live a safe and meaningful life.

Prepare the breakfast session with staff in the Occupational Therapy department (the Clarion centre).

Assist staff member to complete the breakfast to be served on Cherry ward.

Following Food Hygiene Guidelines and any Risk Assessment Guidelines given to them by the Occupational Therapy staff.

Support the clearing and cleaning up process which may mean sole responsibility for this task on occasion.

Socialise with service users and encourage them to eat and drink the breakfast provided.
